It is specially developed for 2500m maximum depth deep mineral exploration, ultra-deep geological survey and deep well geotechnical coring.
Different from ordinary HQ, HRQ and HXQ conventional tempered drill rods, HQA applies integrated rod-end hot upset forging and double tempering reinforcement, with thickened thread base and upgraded overall structural strength. It has full optimization on raw material purity, rod end structure, anti-fatigue heat treatment and thread wear resistance. Balancing ultra-high tensile & torsional strength and optimal pipe toughness, it is suitable for 2200-2500m ultra-deep straight holes, high-inclination holes, high-density hard rock and fractured complex formations. It solves typical deep hole failures including base fracture, thread collapse, body fatigue bending and transition zone fracture, fully compatible with all HQ wireline coring tools.

1. Upset & tempering dual process, for 2500m top-level ultra-deep drill string
Conventional HQ series drill rods are limited below 2400m depth. HQA adopts thickened upset base and upgraded tempering zone, greatly improving thread anti-fatigue performance. It bears dead weight and limit rotary torque of 2500m drill string, avoiding deep hole rod breakage and thread failure.
2. 89*5mm optimized thin-wall structure, balance strength and high water flow
Optimized 5mm wall thickness reduces drill string dead weight; large inner bore realizes high flux flushing fluid circulation, fast cuttings removal and efficient diamond bit cooling, improving ultra-deep drilling efficiency.
3. Integrated upset base reinforcement, eliminate deep hole stress fracture
Integrated hot upset forging thickens joint base, optimizes stress transition area, relieves alternating load impact, solves transition section breakage pain point under long-term deep underground working condition.
4. Universal HQ standard thread, zero accessory replacement cost
100% compatible with all mainstream HQ wireline coring accessories. Original core barrel, overshot, reaming shell and drill bit can be used directly, mixed assembly with old HQ rods saves project investment.
5. Hardened thread surface, anti-corrosion & anti-galling for deep well
Double nitriding & phosphating thread treatment resists mineralized groundwater and acidic mud corrosion. Excellent anti-seize property, easy breakout after long-time downhole placement, reduce deep hole drilling downtime loss.
