PQ3 (also known as PWL3) is a super-large diameter, heavy-duty, ultra-deep hole-specific diamond reaming tool for the Q series rope core system. It is an enhanced heavy-duty version of the standard PQ and is designed for ultra-deep holes ranging from 2000 to 2800 meters, extremely hard rock / highly abrasive formations, and large-diameter high-torque conditions.

Description

PQ3 (also known as PWL3) is a super-large diameter, heavy-duty, ultra-deep hole-specific diamond reaming tool for the Q series rope core system. It is an enhanced heavy-duty version of the standard PQ and is designed for ultra-deep holes ranging from 2000 to 2800 meters, extremely hard rock / highly abrasive formations, and large-diameter high-torque conditions. 
Installed between the PQ3 drill bit and the outer casing of the core barrel, it is responsible for maintaining the diameter of the large-diameter hole, supporting heavy loads, strengthening the hole wall, and protecting the large-diameter drilling tools. It is the core tool for deep metal mines, large-diameter hydrological/geothermal projects, and scientific deep holes.

Structure and Materials (Heavy-duty Reinforced Design)


1. Ultra-high-strength alloy matrix: 40CrNiMoA forged + quenched and tempered, pipe wall thickened by 30%, torsion / vibration / deformation resistance is 50% higher than PQ, capable of withstanding large-diameter high-load.


2. Heavy-duty wear-resistant core: coarse-grained tungsten carbide + high-toughness bonding phase, with a temperature resistance of 1200℃, suitable for extremely hard rocks, strong grinding, and crushed strata, with excellent core resistance to cracking.


3. Diamond working layer (preferred for heavy-duty):


* Inlaid diamond (standard): high-strength fine-grained diamond, lifespan is 50% higher than PQ, preferred for hard rocks / ultra-deep holes.


* PCD composite sheet (enhanced type): maintains diameter section with multi-angled PCD, extremely strong against impact / wear, single branch advance length is 4000 meters +.


* Surface-set natural diamond (fast for soft rocks): fast advancement, smooth chip removal, used in medium-hard intact strata.


* Super large-flow spiral water channel: 5 spiral edges + ultra-wide and deep water channel + reinforced guiding slope, water flow is increased by 50%, chip removal is fast, resistance reduction by 40% +, strong anti-blocking core / anti-mud balling capability for large-diameter.
