CGE Group Wuxi Drilling Tools Launches NQUA Double-End Upset Wireline Drill Rod, Engineered for Horizontal Deep Hole Exploration

CGE Group Wuxi Drilling Tools Co., Ltd. has officially released its high-performance NQUA double-end upset wireline coring drill rod. Purpose-built for horizontal exploration boreholes, this upgraded rod delivers substantial performance gains while keeping the rod weight nearly unchanged, offering a robust deep-hole drilling solution for geological and mineral exploration projects.

The NQUA drill rod adopts double-end upset design. With negligible weight increase, it features thicker wall at the threaded section to enlarge the wear allowance of the box thread, extending service life by 24%. High-frequency hardening is applied on the upset zone to boost wear resistance for the harsh abrasive conditions commonly seen in horizontal drilling.

Its reinforced thread design raises torsional strength by 38% compared with standard NQ drill rods. The negative-angle asymmetric trapezoidal thread improves shear resistance and anti-joint unscrewing performance. After high-frequency quenching, the thread flank hardness reaches HRC55 or above, enhancing thread wear resistance and anti-galling capability.

Rated for a maximum hole depth of 2050 m, the NQUA drill rod achieves a 39% increase in operational depth capacity versus conventional NQ rods, making it ideal for demanding deep mineral horizontal exploration and directional core drilling.

As a state-owned drilling tool manufacturer with nearly 70 years of production heritage, CGE Group Wuxi Drilling Tools implements strict inspection throughout raw material selection, machining and finished product testing. All products comply with DCDMA international standards.

The launch of NQUA expands our portfolio of premium wireline coring rods, supplying global geological exploration contractors with more durable, deeper and safer drilling equipment.
