HTW belongs to large size of TW thin-wall wireline drill rod series, equivalent to standard HQ heavy wall drill rod and manufactured in compliance with DCDMA international specifications. It serves as the primary drill rod for large-bore & medium-deep hole mineral exploration and large-scale geotechnical engineering projects. Balancing lightweight design and high structural strength, HTW fits large and medium-sized full-hydraulic crawler drilling rigs. Compared with conventional HQ heavy wall drill rods, it cuts down weight by 13%, features enlarged inner bore and superior mud circulation efficiency.

Description

HTW is the large-size option of TW thin-wall wireline drill rod series, made to DCDMA standards and interchangeable with regular HQ heavy-wall drill rods as the primary tubing for large-bore medium-depth mineral exploration and major geotechnical projects; engineered for both lightweight build and high structural strength to match medium & large full-hydraulic crawler rigs, it is 13% lighter than standard HQ rods with expanded inner bore for improved mud circulation, manufactured from ZT950 high-strength alloy seamless steel via thin-wall body design plus upset-forged & fully heat-treated rod ends and case-hardened threads that deliver outstanding galling resistance, tight sealing and superior tensile & torsional capacity with internationally interchangeable threads for global replacement compatibility.

Q1: Conventional HQ solid drill rod is overweight, leading to high rig fuel cost and difficult hoisting & transportation in mountain areas?
A: Made of high-strength ZT950 seamless tube, around 13% lighter than standard HQ rod. It reduces rig torque and fuel consumption for easier field hoisting and transportation.


Q2: Traditional coring requires pulling out full drill string, causing long tripping time and low drilling efficiency?
A: Matched with complete HTW wireline core barrel and overshot assembly. Core can be retrieved by wireline without tripping out the entire drill string to save lots of non-drilling time.


Q3: Small inner bore of solid rods results in poor mud circulation, poor cuttings removal and frequent bit sticking in hard & broken rock?
A: Large internal diameter ensures high mud flow capacity, smooth cuttings discharge and effective bit cooling for stable drilling in complicated formations.
